Vodafone Portugal launches a widget contest

It’s called “Concurso Apps Vodafone” and aims for innovation and creation of small web apps (widget’s) in Portugal for the Vodafone app store (soon to launch).

The best 5 widgets will get prizes; €20.000 for the best, $5.000 for second place and €2.500 for the last three. The selected widgets could be monetized on the app store and the first price will be promoted by Vodafone.

Deadline is 14 July and Vodafone is going to publish all details, tools and rules on their portuguese website: www.vodafone.pt

  • The iphone is a dream come true. There is no way I can manage my day with out it. There are enough widgets to make my head spin.
  • Vodaphone has no limit when it comes to creativity. They know what savy customers want, which is why they'd offer such a great contest.

  • This scheme? It's a contest that you could enter if you know how to develop widgets. It ended this past summer though and not sure what the outcome of the contest was. Maybe they'll make some updates here and let us know!

  • NooooO!!!! How did this escape me?! I do hope that they would launch another sometime this year, and also wish that apple would do the same for their iPhone. Lots of widget developers are waiting, me included. :D

  • I can't wait to see more updated and improved widget for my iPhone, well I'm keeping myself busy in searching for his widgets and I'm having fun in browsing the net for it
